When it comes to gunpla, there’s no defined set of rules to follow. You won’t get fined if you panel line (unless it’s a competition, then you get judged on those things). You don’t need to know how to scribe or scratch build unless you want to!

I find my hobby joy in creating what I call art pieces. My builds to me are a form of art. A unique blend of plamo building and creating a statue. I can’t scribe very well, nor do I panel line and that’s okay. It’s not my thing and if it’s not your thing, then don’t do it.

Yes, there may be negative comments but I feel like that’s slowly dwindling down the more people go beyond the normal scope of the hobby. I’ve gotten my fair share of unsavory opinions (Talentless hack, no talent type, and so on). It’s a massive pain at times but honestly, the best bet is to ignore them and carry on with what you’re doing. Arguing with them will only upset you and waste energy. Do what makes you happy. You pay for those robots, no one else does.

Who says you can’t splatter a kit like Pollock or sculpt it like Michaelangelo? It’s perfectly okay to funk up a kit! There are a million things you can add or take away from your kits.

I like to try new stuff to my gunpla all the time. Sometimes I like the mom-style craft pages because they are surprisingly resourceful on techniques and saving a buck while doing so! It’s where I got the inspiration to do my Swarovski crystal Haro and marble Gelgoog. Sometimes I wish I had the set up for gunpla like they do crafts.

The most important thing to do is have fun with what you’re doing! So just do it!
I hope you found this post enjoyable. Have any questions or opinions? If so share them in the comments.
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Art rules are made to be broken! There’s nothing more freeing than breaking a rule with purpose and it’s SO worth it
