I had the joy of wrapping up my first large project this week.
This project started around August of last year and has slowly been worked on! The theme is a blend of Lisa Frank vibes and random thoughts that popped into my head. I had a different theme in mind when I started this but that went out the window.
I am extremely proud of how this turned out. I’ve always found pink and yellow to be tricky colors for me to work with. They came out vibrantly and better than what I had previously imagined. It also allowed me to use some old paint that’s been sitting around for a while now…
The process started with a base primer. White primer for the pinks, yellows, and greens. Blue primer for the blues and purple. It really helped to make the colors pop. Next came the details, sketched out with pencil before hand-painting them. Then came the dots. I used my handy dandy dotting tools for that one. As for the top coat, I did several light layers of Montana can glossy varnish.
I do have plans for another Nightingale but in a pysanky style.
Here are some of the work-in-progress photos:
Here are the final photos! They’re really stunning. This was a project that I took great pride in creating!

Have a happy Friday, everyone!
