Howdy folks! We’re one day short of being three months into the new year! Can you believe how fast this year is passing? I figured it’s been a hot minute since our last Q&A session and reached out to the community to see what was brewing!
These questions did get a good chuckle out of me!
How much would can a woodchuck chuck if a wood chuck is a millennial and always tired and stressed everyday like me?
So fun fact about Punxsutawney Phil is that on his website it says he’s over 120 years old and given an elixir of immortality.
Can you do a backflip tho?
Unfortunately not! I am very clumsy and accident prone (I’m famous for falling upstairs). I’d break my back or something. It would be cool to do!
What’s a kit you enjoyed building but really disliked once put together?
I can’t say I’ve ever experienced this. I’m pretty picky about what I build in the first place.
What is the worst kit ever and why is it FA Unicorn Ver Ka?
The worst kit isn’t the FA Unicorn Ver Ka. It’s the fucking Strelitzia model from Good Smile. I want my damn money back. I was so hyped and preordered the kit. The universe decided “No, you don’t get to enjoy it” and it was the worst time.
It even burned me out for a few weeks with a bitter taste of disappointment.
Have you ever been attacked by waterfowl?
Yes! Canadian Geese! Every spring brought whole gaggles of geese to the outside of the high school I used to attend. Many kids, including myself, have to haul ass past a swarm of them to avoid getting our shit knocked in by 8 pounds of unfiltered Canadian rage.
What’d you think of Kanye’s new album?
No, not a fan of Kayne.
Do you have references for your art builds?
Most of the time no. What I do end up doing is going to places were house paints are sold and grabbing those free paper paint samples. They’ve been handy for playing around with color schemes.
I trim them down (keeping the color names) and store them in 9 pocket binder protectors made for trading card games. For larger ones I use picture holders or page holders. Then they get tossed into a binder until I need them.
Another source I utilize is pantone colors. Much like the paper sample pantone sells post cards of their famous colors. Those help to build color schemes and spark ideas.

Which Gundam spends the most time in the gym?
Big Zam! Never skips leg day!

Y’all excited for the Shadow of the Erdtree reveal?
Looks interesting but I’ve never played Elden Ring yet. What I know of the game is through video essays and people who’ve played the game.
Who’s your favorite gunpla shop and why?
Currently? There’s many but Gundam Pros is my top choice at the moment. I like the customer service and have even drove down to their warehouse one day! We had a great time and are actually planning on going again!
Yeah I got one :(, uhhhh, ummmmm, favorite acrylic color?
Hard to pick! I’m fond of blues, yellows, and magentas.
First gunpla you built?
The 1/144 Vidar from IBO!

This Japanese art form involves the cultivation of miniature trees in containers, and is often associated with principles of harmony, aesthetics, and patience?
What is Bonsai?
How do you get back into a hobby you left behind (circumstances aside), after its been what feels like a long time?
Well, there’s a few ways you can go about that.
The first would be diving head first into it. Getting elbow deep into building or new information. This was me getting back into Magic the Gathering. However, this may not be the best method for everyone.
The second method is a slower, more gentle approach. Buy a small kit, spend a good time snapping it up. Really enjoy the process. Take your time if you want. It’s not going anywhere. Maybe do a little research if you think there’s been any large information changes.
These approaches really do depend on the hobby and persons. I’m a huge hobby rotator. One month I’ll be super into magic. Then gunpla. Then gaming. This goes on and on until I repeat the process.
Hey, so I really want to get into Warhammer 40k but I have zero skills in painting and wonder where I can go to even get started in learning how to paint as someone with no skill?
I learned how to paint by both painting and learning information from youtube videos, along with talking to other painters. The thing to note is that all painting skills will take time to develop so don’t worry about not having a lot of know-how.
If you’re worried about painting Warhammer figures first then I recommend painting on cheaper minis, like the cheap DND minis.
Here are a few videos I like:
