Let’s Play Update: The Spell Brigade!

Back in October, I made a post about this fun wizard game called The Spell Brigade.

The Spell Brigade is a fantasy survivors-like game that is developed and published by Bolt Blaster Games. You can play solo, with friends, or in an online team of up to four.

Recently, there’s been a plethora of fun updates that I, and I hope you, find enjoyable!

BIG FLAMING SWORD

The game feels more cohesive now. Fewer glitches and bugs. My computer doesn’t get as hot playing and running it as it did before. That could just be my laptop.

FEAR ME MONSTERS

The devs have been listening to community feedback, and it shows. One of the best choices they’ve made is the endless mode, optional friendly fire, and a one-spell-only.

The endless mode repeats the level after you defeat the boss, brings you back to the beginning of the level (all spells and stats still the same), and increases enemy damage/health. I think my record for endless mode is almost two hours?

Friendly fire being optional is great if you want the challenge or just want one less thing to focus on.

The one spell only is when you only get access to the base spell your mage comes with. I run Star Mage most of the time, so my one spell would be falling stars. I find it easier to survive with the one spell because you can jack up other upgrades, especially if you increase your luck. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t need to move or worry about damage.

Spell balancing has also improved. Spells that I would consider weaker have been bumped to perform better. Moonerang comes to mind.

New mages are constantly being added. I haven’t played them yet.

I just love them. Look at ’em.

He’s just a little dude. Just a guy. A pal even.

We also got:

  • New objectives
  • New Wizard buffs
  • Better Relics (40+ health increase for every health potion is a banger)
  • Ghost wizards! (When you die, you can still collect XP for teammates)

The updates don’t stop there. One thing I’m excited about for update 11 is the new bosses and maps. Playing the same boss and maps can get a tad bit boring. No offense, Sol’phish.

I would recommend this game. Even more so if you have three friends to play it with.
