2025 did not end as I had hoped. It ended with a concussion and drained energy. Which wasn’t quite the plan. Who knew that hitting the back of your head on a weight bar was bad? Not meโฆ I missed all the fun while with the ER doctor. A fist fight. Drunk shenanigans. Matt had a good show to watch during our four-hour wait, while I sat there like a fish out of water.
The original plan was a long-winded write-up of how 2025 came and went, set to be published on New Year’s Day. That didn’t happen. I’m still working on my screen time exposure. I wrote a little, feel the headache coming back, and call it for the day. Most time was spent doing things like crocheting or snapping up haros. Things that didn’t require a ton of mental exercise.
Much like the previous years, we’ll go through some lists. Books, posts, and so on.
Posts
2025 was not an active year for me, writing-wise. I aim to increase the number of posts here and not just hobby confession posts.
Some of my favorite posts of 2025:
- 8 Transformers I Would Take on a Date (No, I Won’t Elaborate)
- Let’s attend: New England Quilt Expo- NEQE
- Winzfactor Answers Your MTG Questions

Builds/Projects
I did not finish a single gundam build this year. Made good progress on some, started a few, but none were fully finished. The project goblin got to me. 2026 is going to be the year to knock them out! I swear!
(BEWARE, THERE IS A HARO WITH TEETH PAST THIS POINT. I APOLOGIZE BECAUSE IT EVEN WEIRDS ME OUT A BIT. THE TEETH ARE FAKE)

The Cerulean project was not finished on time this year. Frankly, if I’m being honest, I’m not happy with the Tyranid that I started working on. I’d like to strip it and redo it in the future.

While lower on the unfinished gunpla projects, I did have success on several fiber projects! Older skills were dusted off, and new ones joined the party. I got back into crocheting and knitting. Sewing skills were strengthened.

Even got back into yarn spinning properly this time! My Neolithic spindle was a blast to use compared to my teenage attempts with a drop spindle. Wool was the only fiber I spun this year.

Weaving was another interesting craft attempted. I had just gotten an Inkle loom that needed some repairs before the year ended.

Blankets were made. Many blankets. All (mostly) modeled by our lovely Djungleskog. All yarns in these pics are Caron cakes. The orange one was loom-knit (took forever), but was worth it!

Books and Games
One thing that I don’t understand about BookTok last year was the obsession with how many books people read. Who cares if someone read a hundred books or just ten? All that matters is that people are reading.
I actually canceled my Audible subscription and just started getting audiobooks strictly from our libraries. Yeah, I might need to wait seven weeks, but fuck AI narration. Why the fuck would I want an AI voice when we have a plethora of talented narrators?
Which reminds me, I need to update my Goodreads.
A few of the Books I read this year:
- Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis
- Knitlandia by Clara Parkes
- Skeleton Crew, Nightmares & Dreamspaces, and 1922 by Stephen King
- Pluto: Urasawa x Tezuka
- Wild Spaces by S.L. Coney
- Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley
- Yours Cruelly, Elvira by Cassandra Peterson
- The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
- Unraveling by Peggy Orenstein
Thanks to Davis Morgan, I also reread the whole fucking story of Happy Appy (reader discretion advised. Shock value for the sake of shock value). The dumbest fucking creepypasta on the market. Not included on the list as well would be articles, fanfic, SCP stories, and all that Jazz.
Enjoyable games that I constantly get my ass kicked by:
- Doom
- Silent Hill F
Other enjoyable games:
- Am I Nima (Demo only)
- The Spell Brigade
- Sokpop S01: Dino game
- Death Crown
- Lightyear Frontier
- Rocket Rats
Movies:
- Weapons
- Bring Her Back
- Sinners
- Nosferatu
And?
I’m not entirely sure how I would wrap this post up. There were (and are) many things going on in life that sure does take the piss out of us. Looking back, it’s easy to be frustrated at the lack of things done or what I could have done more of. I’m a human. You’re a human. Let’s not beat ourselves up. 2025 was a rough fucking year.
I cold cut a lot of cool people I know when I left many of my socials (still on bsky), and that did impact me. I’m not a social person in real life, so I like online connections. Not to mention doomscrolling, rotting my brain. Holy fuck.
2026 is a year to better take care of ourselves and our community. Focus on human-made art. Not AI slop. Protect our loved ones. Keep on existing despite the very persistent horrors that plague us constantly.
If you would like to share a web button or site link with me, hit me up. It’s time to bring back personal websites.
Also, how has it only been 10 days of 2026? It’s felt like a month already.
My noggin hurts. I’m going to go lie down now. Take care!
