Howdy folks!

Can you believe this lovely little site of ours is three years old? How great is that? I’m ever greater for both our returning supporters and new ones. You’re the reason why each year is better than the last!

To celebrate I figured it would be neat to do a wacky Q&A where people could ask me anything under the sun! Doesn’t matter I’d try to answer.

What’s something that makes a book a must-read for you?

An interesting plot makes a book a must-read. I’m very fond of weird fiction and the appeal of a unique plot is a plus for the genre. Make it weird and make it memorable. That’s why I’m so fond of Annihilation!

Do you Phil Collins?

Do I like Phil Collins? Yeah

Am I Phil Collins? Maybe. You never know.

Do you like my butt?

I’m sure it’s very nice, but I have one butt that I enjoy in my life. 

Can you do a backflip?

Unfortunately not. I’ve never been able to do one.

What gundam pilot is the gayest?

Char and Amuro are both tied for that. I mean they’re practically divorced but still married Husbands at this point. 

If you had a stand, what’s their name, abilities/strengths, and look?

Take my face, throw it on a really buff bodybuilder, call it K, and give them some dumb power like pocket sand or something. We’d be JK.

Elmer’s glue. All-natural, sugar-free, and cage-free!

Is Cereal a soup?

I fully believe so. There are hot soups. Cold soups. Cereal soups.

Poor personal hygiene son or model kit hoarder daughter?

Model kit hoarder daughter. While I have a high threshold for being grossed out I don’t want to be around it. Smells is one of them if you’ve read the hygiene article I did recently. 

Of all the builders you interact with and follow, whose work would you eat first? Whose work needs the most goopening?

Works I’d eat first? It’s a draw between Truegunpla’s builds and Brobuilder’s. Their builds are fantastic and snackable! As for the gooping, everyone’s work needs gooping. Even you dear reader. You need the gooping.

Who’s your favorite criminal?

As someone who has spent a large portion of my life studying and dissecting crimes, it’s hard to say that I have favorite criminals and I know some true crime fans do. I am a firm believer that the state of true crime can be considered incredibly toxic at times. Victim rights and empathy for the families of victims are often thrown out the window when someone does a crap armchair “true crime” podcast or some network does another serial killer documentary. 

There was a woman recently who had a full autopsy report on her Patreon of a young child and it’s that level that I think people are taking it to an exploitative nature.

Granted, not all podcasts and documentaries are bad for true crime rather a large portion are predatory and exploitative. It just rubs me the wrong way. There’s something about someone doing a “get ready with me” video cheerfully talking about Dahmer or Ted Bundy that feels repulsive.

So to loop back to the main point because I know that was an odd ramble, I don’t have a favorite criminal rather just cases that have caught my attention from a criminologist perspective. 

There’s a book that I’ve been rereading because I find the theory brought forth to be interesting. If anyone wants to take a look then look into “The New Evil” by Michael H Stone MD and Gary Brucato PhD. Be warned that it covers incredibly disturbing topics. It is not a light book.

If you could choose any other Plamo besides the Haro as a blank canvas for your art, what would you choose?

The HG Nightingale. It’s a wide empty canvas that allows for interesting paint jobs. I have completed two Nightingales in the past with a third on the way. Will I do more after? Probably if space allows for it. I’d like to do a whole color range of them.

Why do beam sabers make bad chopsticks?

Because some of them are too small to do anything with. Two or three inches are just not large enough. Now, if we had the beam sabers of the PG unicorn then maybe it would work better.

Favorite band?

I’m very fond of Occult rock! If I had to pick my favorite, I would say that Blood Ceremony. BC is one that I often keep on repeat! The vocals and flute work are snazzy.

What is your favorite hobby smell?

I think that would have to be paint smell. There’s something about the smell of paint after a satisfying hobby session. Just good stuff. 

What’s a show, movie, book, etc that you feel has a very interesting premise but was extremely disappointed by?

Prometheus. Prometheus all the way. I explain it all pretty well in this article but there were so many missed opportunities. You can read the earlier scripts to get a feel of what we lost.

What Gundam show will always have a place in your heart no matter the community’s opinion of it?

I can’t say that there’s a gundam show that I truly care that much about. I enjoyed WFM and the original series but not enough to have a place in my heart. Maybe Hathaway’s Flash? 

Favorite paint to paint?

I’ve been enjoying Army Painter’s speed paint lately more so than other brands. I like the shades and application. It dries incredibly fast which has been a huge help in painting my Tyranid army. It goes on smoothly. Pools well. You can blend them to get some interesting shades. I wish I had more of it.

Is Bing chilling?

Sure.

Top 5 Sandwiches (For references, hot dogs, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are allowed)

There are very few memorable sandwiches that I’ve had in my life. All of them kind of level out to be on the same tier. 

Only one has been better than the rest and I will die on this hill. Primanti Bros on 46 18th St in Pittsburgh. I got the Pastrami and cheese. Listen to me when I say that sandwich ruined me for other sandwiches. So much so that the universe said “No, you’re not allowed to experience this again” and made it so gluten fucked my entire being. 

I want that sandwich back.

Which mushroom is best?

Stropharia ambigua. They’re quite questionable.

Who is your favorite living armament, such as Stormbringer, Soul Edge, and The Star Saber?

I would have to go with the Star Saber on this one. It might be my favorite out of the bunch.

Did you get a chance to catch any of this year’s best picture nominees and if so which was your favorite?

I’m kind of bummed Barbie didn’t win. Other than that I can’t say I cared for the other films that were nominated.

What’s your most controversial Gunpla take you’re willing to say not anonymously?

Sometimes I don’t prime things. If I’m painting a haro just for me, I don’t think it needs primer.
